At the 21st Century Radiation Protection Special Conference (22nd) — Conference on the Application of Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization in Radiation Protection, Li Yuewen, a 2020 undergraduate student majoring in Marine Sciences at our college made an oral presentation "Technology for Distinguishing Suspicious Data of γ-Radiation Air Absorption Dose Rate around Coastal Nuclear Power Plant Based on Decision Tree (DT) Algorithm", which was was selected for the "Radiation Field and Ionizing Radiation Measurement" parallel session.

Under the guidance of Professor Lin Wuhui, Li Yuewen developed a model using DT algorithm in the field of artificial intelligence, to efficiently identify suspicious data on γ- radiation air absorbed dose rates around coastal nuclear power plants. This algorithm can assist in the analysis of abnormal data of γ- radiation and significantly reduce manual workload, which provided certain technical support for the response to recent nuclear-related online public opinion and laid aid a technical foundation for real-time early warning of atmospheric radiation environment monitoring under nuclear emergency conditions.

This 21st Radiation Protection Special Conference is hosted by Chinese Society of Radiation Protection and the Science and Technology Committee of China National Nuclear Corporation, organized by Nuclear Power Operation Research (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and with co-organizers such as China Institute for Radiation Protection (CIRP), China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) and National Institute for Radiological Protection, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The active participation of our faculty and students in the conference reflects how our college responds to the national "Artificial Intelligence +" strategy in experts’ cultivation:

Emphasize interdisciplinary cooperation

Focus on the frontiers of disciplines and the guidance of expansion in research perspectives

Improve academic standards, increase relevant knowledge, and expect greater achievements.
