From July 8 to 9, 2024, Fu Yuanbin (Director of Island Ecological Environment Protection Office NMEMC), and his team visited our college for an in-depth investigation on the construction of diving training base in university, accompanied by Zhang Liang (Director of Chinese Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association), Wang Yang (Level III Division Rank Official of the NMEMC), Engineer.Zhang Ting, and Engineer Huang Baiqiang of SCIES.

On the afternoon of July 8, the two sides held a symposium. Vice-Dean Liu Qiyang extended a warm welcome to Director Fu Yuanbin and his team, and introduced the basic situation of our college. Vice-Dean Liang Jiayuan, Asst. Deans Huang Rongyong and Chen Biao, along with the heads of various teaching and research departments and faculty participated in the dicsuccion. Director Fu Yuanbin introduced the background and purpose of this visit, as well as their team members.

Afterwards, Huang Xueyong (Director of the Diving and Marine Scientific Expedition Center) gave a comprehensive overview of the construction history, latest progress and remarkable achievements of the Diving Training Base. He emphasized that the base has been committed to the training and promotion of marine scientific diving technology since its establishment. Through some powerful measures such as developing a specialized course Diving and Marine Scientific Expedition", social resources integration, creation of a unique brand, and training models innovation, a large number of high-quality professionals have been cultivated for marine environmental monitoring and scientific research.

During the symposium, the two sides conducted an in-depth discussion on key issues, such as the qualifications, facilities, teaching staff, and training programs of the Diving Training Base, and had a heated discussion on how to further deepen cooperation.

After the symposium, the survey team, accompanied by Huang Xueyong, visited the college's Diving and Marine Scientific Expedition Center. They also went to the Field Diving Training Base located on Weizhou Island for an on-site investigation. Weizhou Island, with its unique natural environment and abundant marine resources, enjoys great geographical advantages for diving training. At the Weizhou Island Diving Training Base, investigators not only carefully inspected the diving training venues, facilities and safety measures, but also had in-depth exchanges and interactions with the backbones at the Base.
