Our college grandly held the 2024 student Hooding and Commencement Ceremony

On June 25, the Hooding and Commencement Ceremony for the 2024 students of School of Marine Sciences at Guangxi University was held in Conference Room 215. This is the 5th batch of undergraduate, the 3rd batch of master's students in Marine Science, and the 4th batch of doctoral students in Marine Biological Resources and Environmental Protection from the School of Marine Sciences at Guangxi University. They have successfully completed their studies and were going to embark on new journeys in life.

At the start of the ceremony, melodious songs floated in the venue. Representatives of the 2024 graduates, Qin Qi and Liu Zijie, sang "Our Tomorrow" and "To Tomorrow", expressing their deep attachment and reluctance to the college.

In Zang Shenglin’s speech, an undergraduate graduate of the class of 2024, sincerely reviewed his 4-years of university life. She talked about her transformation from confusion to determination, from struggle to growth, and expressed her profound gratitude for the companionship and support of her roommates, friends, supervisor and instructors. She encouraged us to cherish the present and embrace the future with a positive attitude, and wished the School of Marine Sciences and its students a bright future.

Han Minwei, a doctoral student of the Class of 2024, spoke with deep emotion and anticipation. As a witness to the construction of the School of Marine Sciences, he reviewed the journey since his enrollment as a master's student in 2017, and expressed gratitude for the hard work of the faculty and the companionship of his classmates. He shared his own growth experience, how he grew from an ignorant to a scholar who is going to be a faculty through hard work and sweat. He encouraged everyone with the motto, "Knowledge changes destiny, and effort shapes the future", encoring them to cherish their youth, study hard, and constantly enrich themselves. He also mentioned the importance of teamwork and called on everyone to work together and work hard to achieve their dreams. Finally, he inspired the students to bravely pursue their dreams, face challenges without fear, and write a wonderful life with wisdom and sweat.

Teacher representative and Assoc. Prof. Wang Liwei, Head-teacher of Class 2, Grade 2020 of Marine Science, opened the speech with "Summer flowers bloom in June, and the journey of life begins". She extended heartfelt congratulations to the students who have worked hard and strived to successfully complete their studies, and thanked the support and cooperation of their parents in students’ education. She shared heartfelt advice with the students: accept yourself, including your uniqueness and shortcomings, recognize your self-worth and find happiness; strive to surpass your limitations, pursue excellence and create a better life; love yourself, pay attention to your inner needs and trust yourself, as this is the romantic starting point for chasing your dreams.

Dean Professor Yu Kefu delivered a heartfelt message at the graduation ceremony He congratulated the students on successfully completing their studies and embarking on a new journey, and expressed his sincere gratitude for their contributions to the development of college. He expressed his hope that the graduates would continue to the graduates would the development of college after leaving. The college will serve as a strong rock for all graduates and will be proud of every achievement they make. He encouraged them to be confident and optimistic, stay grounded, constantly enrich themselves, develop a forward-looking vision, improve their emotional intelligence and perspective. He also emphasized the importance of well-being. Finally, Dean Yu Kefu quoted President Xi Jinping’s words, “Happiness is generated through hard work.”, and encouraged them to maintain a positive attitude, forge ahead with determination and write a magnificent chapter of the era in the name of youth.

Dean Yu Kefu turned the tassel and awarded of degree certificates for each graduate, and individually took commemorative photos with them.

Finally, with the songs sung by students Hong Rui, He Xucong, Liu Zijie, Pan Yuanle, Qin Qi and others, the graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony for the 2024 graduates of School of Marine Sciences at Guangxi University came to a close. All erudite graduates were going to continually climb bravely and create brilliance with the teachers' earnest blessings and beautiful expectations on the road of future life.
